Most likely you have heard or seen the art of decoupaging, but have you tried it? Decoupage is a form of paper art that originated in East Asia. It is thought to be an East Siberian Tomb art, where nomadic tribes used cut-out felt to decorate graves. This art spread to China by the 12th century, where cut-out paper was used to decorate objects such as lanterns, boxes and windows. The favorable art continued its way to France where they decorated furniture, England using a collage-like style, and then to American using decoupaging on various items for décor.
Come join us for a night of fun using this old traditional paper craft to create a vase for a battery-operated candle which will highlight your art in a beautiful candlelight glow.
