INDIE LENS POP-UP PRESENTS

"Free For All: The Public Library" The story of a simple idea that shaped a nation!

To kick off National Library Week, Cranberry Public Library, in partnership with PBS, WQED, ITVS, and Independent Lens, invites you to a special Indie Lens Pop-Up screening of Free for All: The Public Library. This event will feature an exclusive preview screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion with past and present Cranberry Public Library staff members, offering an inside look at the evolution of our local library and its role in the community.

About the Film:

Directed by Dawn Logsdon and Lucie Faulknor, Free for All: The Public Library explores the revolutionary movement that made public libraries a cornerstone of democracy. From the pioneering women behind the Free Library Movement to today’s librarians navigating book bans and closures, this documentary celebrates the people who built and continue to fight for these essential public institutions.

Join us for this inspiring event and celebrate the enduring power of public libraries!
