Program Description

Event Details

Join us for an out of this world program at Cranberry Public Library with the Heinz History Center! In 2019, the History Center hosted the national touring exhibition Destination Moon for the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Mission. Curator Emily Ruby will share what the History Center uncovered regarding our region's many contributions to the space race.

This program is presented in partnership with the Cranberry Township Historical Society.

Emily Ruby has been a curator at the Senator John Heinz History Center for almost 15 years. She works on expanding the artifact collection and putting together exhibitions on regional history including Angels of Mercy (an exhibition on Catholic Sisters’ contributions to Nursing in Western PA), The Heinz Exhibit, Pittsburgh: A Tradition of Innovation and the local components for national traveling exhibitions such as The 1968 Exhibition, Toys of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s and Destination Moon.
