Annie White from the Fred Rogers Institute at Saint Vincent College will join us for a program about encouraging, enriching, and empowering relationships in our everyday lives!
It is sometimes difficult to imagine the power of a single, small, and ordinary moment, yet such moments are the most essential building blocks of healthy development for children and youth and relationships among adults and within the community. Finding meaningful ways to understand, appreciate, and promote such moments can be encouraging, enriching, and empowering across entire communities. At the foundation of our meaningful relationships is the power of human connection. In this one-hour program, we will draw from the legacy of Fred Rogers and videos of real practice to explore the power we have to build connections and contribute to the growth of our communities. We will begin with an introduction to the Fred Rogers Institute and the legacy of Fred Rogers. Next, we will share research about the importance of relationships for children, youth, and families. We will then watch short videos and reflect on the day-to-day moments that build relationships. Finally, we will think together about how we can spread kindness through our own everyday interactions.
