Program Description

Event Details

Enroll in this unique class taught by retired art teacher, Dee Ruckert to create your own upcycled character using found objects attached to an ironing board.  ("Google" ironing board yard sculptures for some inspirational ideas - there're some pretty clever people out there!)  This class will meet twice to complete these creations.

1st class - Tuesday, October 1 from 1-2pm where participants will select their ironing board, see photo samples, meet Dee's Frankenstein, and get ideas to springboard creativity!  Participants will be given information for supply gathering and have one week to gather their materials.  These ironing boards are intended to be outside so think plastic, metal or able to withstand weathering.  Duration: 1 hour

2nd class - Tuesday, October 8 from 1-4pm for the creation of these sculptures.  Dee will bring tools to help assemble your sculpture and asks that you thinking about space in your vehicle to transport your ironing board friend home.
Duration: 3 hours

Participants will be provided with one metal ironing board, wire, and hot glue. Dee will also have some items available for embellishing your creation -- tie wraps, paint, a variety of head options, pool noodles, and plenty of other goodies!
